How We Create UGC at SCALE

Can you believe this is the last Friday before Black Friday?? ðŸ˜²

In todays email I'm going to break down how the process looks when it comes to storyboarding ideas for UGC creatives.

There are so many elements that go into creating top-performing UGC, below is an outline of how our storyboards look, so let's break down each stage.

1. CONCEPT

This is the BIG idea that the content will deliver that inspires the user to take action (i.e. visit website). A lot of time is spent on this part before the storyboarding begins.

If you get this part wrong, it makes the rest of the process more difficult as you don't have any foundation to build on.

An example of a concept could be: "Purchasing a phone case with a customized image allows me to relive moment X, each and every day"

2. THE ACTION

This gives the content creator the exact breakdown of what is required for them to record. We break these actions up so we have multiple versions that we can use throughout.

This has to be easy to follow which means fewer revisions are required.

3. VOICEOVER GUIDANCE

We NEVER script when creating our storyboards, as we like to give our content creators enough freedom to make the content feel organic and less robotic.

Humans speak differently when reading a script and just talking and the key takeaway from the content is to spark that emotional touch point with the users.

4. REFERENCE EXAMPLES

Showing a reference makes it easier for the content creator to know what we're looking for in this shot. We usually source these from our previous ads or our huge library of ads that we come across and save. 

5. POST PRODUCTION

When working with content creators we only require them to send us unedited versions of the work as this gives us more freedom to put our mark on the finishing touches.

So our team of editors takes all the files that we have and pieces them together to produce content ready to run.

So there you have it! These simple 5 steps allow our creative team to churn out winning UGC on demand for our clients which continues to get them great results.
